Wir sind die Fachschaftsinitiative für Chemie, Lebensmittelchemie und Chemie-ingenieurwesen an der Technische Universität Berlin.

We are the student committee for chemistry, food chemistry and chemical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. Our primary objective is to support and represent the student body on an academic and political level.
We have a commitment to make the bachelor and master programs in chemistry, food chemistry and chemical engineering as accessible as possible for all backgrounds. We are all students of the same disciplines and understand the difficulty of this academic career. Therefore, we strive to provide equal opportunities for all members by representing your interests on a university politics scale.

Our members are politically active in the different committees at the university. These committees are responsible for discussion and implementation of new policies that affect bachelor and master programs. As your representatives, we make sure that the voices of the students are heard and that fair decisions are made.

The AK Gleichstellung (translated: Committee for Equality) was created in 2020 initially to be a counselling center for students of the Institute of Chemistry. However, our commitment has grown since then to promote change within the entire infrastructure of the university. To learn more, please click here.

The AG Green Chemistry is a committee created in April of 2021 to develop modules, provide events, raise awareness, and make the infrastructure of the Institute of Chemistry more sustainable. The committee works alongside the Ausbildungskommission Chemie (Education Committee of Chemistry) to integrate more topics about sustainability and green chemistry into the bachelor and master programs.

Working in close connection with our student counselors and the committee of equality, we provide information and help to students in need. The help provided ranges from simple homework questions up to working with our student representatives to tackle large scale problems that affects a wide range of students. The Ini-Chemie provides it’s student base a large range of past examinations for students to practice on. Currently, our collection numbers in the several hundred. Every year, we take time to collect new examinations so that our collection is always up-to-date. If you would like to access our collection, please use our ISIS-page or contact us by e-mail. Every year, the Ini-Chemie provides a wide range of events for its students. This includes events like the Prof Cafe, Institute Summer festival, Day of Chemistry, Day of the Open Labs, AStA Summer Festival, First Year Parties and much more!

Die Ini-Chemie bietet auch einen Gemeinschaftsraum im Chemiegebäude. Er befindet sich in der 3. Etage, Raum 334b. Es gibt gemütliche Sitzplätze und Schreibtische, die zum lernen und entspannen genutzt werden können. Ihr findet dort auch kühle Getränke, einen Wasserkocher, eine Mikrowelle und Kaffeemaschine, die wir gerne zur Verfügung stellen. Solange ein Mitglied der INI sich im Raum befindet kann jeder vorbei kommen!

The Ini-Chemie owns and provides access to a common room within the chemistry building. We are located on the 3rd floor in Room 334b. There we have comfortable couches and desks for students to both relax and study. There you will also find a fridge full of cold refreshments, a water boiler, coffee machine and microwave which we happily provide access to. As long as there is a member of the Ini-Chemie there, you will be able to access the room!

The Ini-Chemie owns a large collection of notes, lab protocols, books and exam papers which we will happily provide to you. Due to the COVID-pandemic, many of these have been digitalized. To gain access to these, please use our contact form on the contact page or visit our ISIS page.

Over the years, many previous Ini-Chemie members have washed their old labcoats and made them available to students. This also includes eye protection. If you noticed that you forgot your lab coat and there is a member in the common room, swing on by to room 334b and borrow one from our closet!

Als Mitglied der Ini-Chemie hat man die Aufgabedie Ini-Chemie zu unterstützen. Dies kann durch Übernahme von Aufgaben bei Veranstaltungen und bei der internen Verwaltung der Ini-Chemie passieren. Des Weiteren kann man sich in Gremien beteiligen und die Meinung der Studierenden vertreten. Diese Aufgaben werden durch Plenen verteilt, bei denen Anwesenheit erwünscht ist.

The primary task for a member of the Ini-Chemie is to simply support and help with various tasks. This can be done by assisting with various events or by helping within the internal administration of the Ini-Chemie. Furthermore, being a member of the academic administration of the TU Berlin and assisting on a political scale is highly appreciated. The tasks are discussed and assigned at our weekly meetings, at which participation is asked for.

Der Vorstand hat die Aufgabe regelmäßig Plenen für die Mitglieder der Ini-Chemie zu organisieren. Darin eingeschlossen sind die Aufgaben eine Themenliste vorzubereiten, frühzeitig zu veröffentlichen und die Plenumsdiskussionen effektiv zu strukturieren. Der Vorstand ist auch dafür zuständig, dass Aufgaben rechtzeitig und fair verteilt werden. Genannte Aufgaben gelten auch für Veranstaltungen.

The board of the Ini-Chemie has the job of reguarly scheduling meetings for the members of the Ini-Chemie. This includes also preparing the topic list and the tasks for upcoming events. Scheduled meetings need to be announced early and the meeting discussions need to be structured effectively. The board also needs to make sure that tasks are completed on time and that the workload is fairly distributed. These tasks include projects such as events and political affairs.

Die Kassenwarte sind für die Kontrolle der Finanzen zuständig. Darin sind die Aufgaben, Rechnungen rechtzeitig zu bezahlen und die Finanzen der Ini-Chemie effektiv zu verwalten, enthalten. Die Kassenwarte besitzen Zugang zum Bankkonto.

The members of the treasury are in full control of the finances. This includes tasks such as paying bills on time and also effectively handling the general finances. Treasury members also have access to our safe and our bank account.

Das Medienteam ist für Online-Medien und gedruckte Medien der Ini-Chemie zuständig. Es erstellt Inhalte in schriftlicher und künstlerischer Form für unsere verschiedenen Plattformen. Das Team kümmert sich um die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit über ISIS, Instagram und Facebook und versucht die Studierenden auf dem aktuellsten Stand zu halten. Die Medienverwaltung ist für die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für Veranstaltungen der Ini-Chemie zuständig. Sie erstellt Plakate und andere Formen der Werbung und veröffentlicht diese möglichst effektiv.

The media team is responsible for all online and printed media of the Ini-Chemie. They produce content both in written and artistic formats and publish these on our various platforms. The team is responsible for the public affairs of our ISIS, instagram and facebook pages and are asked to keep students regularly up to date with our latest affairs. The media administration team is also tasked with promoting our various events by producing content such as posters and other forms of advertisements.

Die Mitglieder der Dokumentenverwaltung sind dafür zuständig die Datenbank der Altklausuren und Prüfungsprotokolle regelmäßig zu aktualisieren und zu verwalten. Hinzu kommen die Aufgaben, Werbung bei den Studierenden zu machen, um neue Altkausuren und Prüfungsprotokolle zu sammeln. Das Team sorgt dafür, dass neue Notizen bei der Ini-Chemie eintreffen und ordnet diese.

Members of the document administration team are responsible for maintaining our past exams and exam protocols. This includes regulary updating the list and also asking students to submit their personal ones. This plays an integral role in assisting the students in the future, since examinations tend to change over time. The team is also responsible for maintaining our collection of notes.

Members of the mail administration are tasked with regularly checking our mailbox for mail and making sure that the recipients receive their mail effectively.

Als Unterstützer der Ini-Chemie hat man zwar nicht die gleichen Rechten wie ein vollständiges Mitglied, aber man ist zu Plenen der Ini-Chemie herzlich eingeladen. Als Unterstützer hilft man der Ini-Chemie, indem man Aufgaben bei Veranstaltungen übernimmt, wie zum Beispiel Grillen, Aufund Abbau, sowie Pflege der Bar.

As a supporter of the Ini-Chemie, you may not receive the same benefits as a full member, however you are always welcome to our regular meetings. As as member of the support role, you will be asked to assist us at larger events and taking care of tasks such as grilling, setting up and also helping out behind the bar.
